Imagine it. Aging Hollywood action hero, Jefferson Steel, played by Burt Reynolds is tricked by his agent into taking the leading role in what the actor believes is to be a Stratford-upon-Avon-based production of King Lear, only to discover when he arrives in England that he is appearing in Stratford St John, Suffolk and that his co-performers are nothing more than 'A Bunch of Amateurs'.
The cast also includes Imelda Staunton and Derek Jacobi who when asked if he enjoyed sending up amateur dramatics said: "Oh yes! It's wonderful to be, and strangely quite easy, to be a bad
Shakespearean actor!"
We are featuring this highly amusing, feel good film four times during the festival's first week. Don't miss it!
